Solutions:
Did the CANN Spam Act Help?
So, the new CANN
Spam Act, designed to help reduce email spam has been in effective
for quite awhile now. It's time to take inventory and assess
whether it's working or not.
Did the Spam in
your email box stop? Did it diminish by even a small percentage
point? Was a change decipherable at all? Or, did your email spam
just increase? .. We thought so.
If you're like most
people, this well-intended regulation has had no impact at all on
the amount of spam email you receive. In our view, the CANN Spam Act
only put rules in place that allow anyone to send email to anyone
without permission, and did not address the root cause of the
problem.
Essentially, all
you have to do now is follow a few simple steps with every email
(see our previous email for the steps) and you have made your
unsolicited email "CANN Spam Proof".
While there are
many high-tech solutions on the horizon, we are left to email
solutions providers to help filter out the inevitable spam.

Search
Engine Update:
MSN Search Launches
January
brought about another major development in the search engine
industry; MSN finally launched there new search engine - MSN
Search.
While
the address remains the same, the change in design and
programming is more reflective of Google's search engine, not
coincidentally Microsoft's primary competition.
Perhaps
the most important aspect of this product launch is that MSN
Search is now the fourth major search engine to crawl the web
and collect it's own data, rather than utilizing a third-party's
listings database as it has in the past. Now, the four major
players with their own databases are Yahoo, Google, Ask Jeeves
and now MSN.
As
search engine marketers it is critical to understand how your
web site gets into these databases and how your web site gets
found when when someone types of phrase centered around your
business, products or services.
Having
a well optimized and popular site is essential to having your
web site part of these major databases and found when your
target audience goes searching.
For
more information on how to be found in the search engines, visit
our web
site.
