The Kansas City Missouri School District (Kansas City's metropolitan area's largest school district) selected SPIDERtel to help them overhaul their existing Internet web site and launch a new Extranet site for faculty and staff. Armed with a new logo to enhance the school district's image, SPIDERtel created a new look playing off this new image.  

The biggest challenges for this web site were overcoming the problem of organizing a massive amount of information into an intuitive, easily navigated environment, and to permit the easy updating of information by a large number of people. They were overcome by

working with the district to understand what content would be maintained on the site,

·

developing an organizational flow that allowed for flexibility but made common sense,

·

designing a dynamic page delivery system, where much of the content is maintained in databases, and

·

creating a web based administrative tool that provides for easy updating. 

Shortly after the successful launch of the new district web site, SPIDERtel was asked to create a system that would allow each of the approximately 70 separate schools to have their own customized web presence.

SPIDERtel developed a system that allows each school to select and customize a design. They then maintain their own web site with their own school specific content, sharing district content and resources where appropriate.
